Wisdom recognizes that people are not all the same. The Bible describes different kinds of people, and wisdom helps us discern who we are dealing with and how we should respond.
I’ve found Zack Eswine’s teaching on the simple, the fool, the scoffer, and the wounded especially helpful for understanding others and interacting with them wisely. Sometimes that means knowing how to help. Sometimes it means knowing how to listen, confront, set limits, or step away.
Sage Wisdom

Eswine develops these categories further in this sermon series, looking individually at how wisdom responds to the naive, the foolish, the mocking, and the wounded.
